Thanks to your support, we have kept our work going and growing as we invite audiences to consider the impact of dance within the fabric of their own lives.
Our site responsive dance for the camera, STONES: whispers from the workhouse shot in Portumna, Ireland is finally complete. It features an original soundtrack created this year by composer/musicians Kyle Sanna and Dana Lyn. The film is edited by dancer, educator, and videographer, Erica Lessner. We are now looking for the first screenings to appear in 2025.
In July, Dances by Isadora offered their annual summer workshop at the Mark Morris Dance Center and, in August, held a film shoot in Putnam County, NY, of a 1920 work by Isadora Duncan, which relates to the mass migration of people fleeing war and poverty. This film and other projects are part of ongoing activities leading up to 2027 and the acknowledgment of Duncan’s 150th birthday.
In March 2025, Catherine Gallant/DANCE will present/produce the live version of Escape from the House of Mercy in Lower Manhattan at the Performance Project at University Settlement. Created before COVID, this work has never had a full production, and this season of performances will be very special.
